Crafting + Cocoa with Welcome Blanket Brookline

Crafting + Cocoa with Welcome Blanket Brookline In-Person

Join us at the Putterham Library on Monday, December 9 at 6 PM to craft for a cause and enjoy cookies and cocoa with Welcome Blanket Brookline!

Welcome Blanket, a national craftivism project, asks participants to create blankets & notes of welcome to give to immigrants and refugees. Since 2017, the national project has made close to 7000 blankets. Welcome Blanket Brookline, our local chapter, meets monthly to work on our craft and talk about immigration. Welcome Blanket Brookline has made close to 300 blankets, gifting them to local resettlement agencies.

While we craft and sip cocoa, we will learn about the project from Hadassah Margolis, Welcome Blanket's national COO and Welcome Blanket Brookline founder! In small groups, we will create handmade no-sew fleece blankets and write notes of welcome to our newest neighbors. All crafting levels— especially beginners!— invited.

This is a guided craft event, so please arrive on time to participate. Limited to 15 attendees -- first come, first served.
