Imagining Justice Workshop

Imagining Justice Workshop In-Person

In this workshop, children and their family members will be guided through the process of imagining new worlds and representing them through drawing, collage, and other art mediums! We will learn about the ideas of power and justice using a comic called The Power Rainbow and the picture book Separate is Never Equal by Duncan Tonatiuh. Then, we will design our imaginary worlds, with the goal of creating worlds where people and institutions use their power to promote justice for everyone. We will use our new knowledge and creations to think about how we can take action in our communities!

This workshop is best for kids ages 7-11 and their families. Space is limited to 15 families on a first come, first served basis. Younger and older children are welcome. Caregivers and parents are encouraged to stay but are not required. This workshop is run by Anna Deloia and Hania Mariën, graduates of the Harvard Graduate School of Education. They run a social justice education project called Imagining More Just Futures.

This event is generously sponsored by the Brookline Library Foundation.
