Walnut Hills Cemetery 150th Anniversary Guided Walking Tour

Walnut Hills Cemetery 150th Anniversary Guided Walking Tour In-Person

Join us with DPW's Parks and Open Space Division for a guided walking tour of this historic local landmark to commemorate its 150th anniversary!

We'll be meeting on the lawn of the Putterham Library starting at 9:30 AM and departing at 10 AM sharp, so please arrive early to secure your spot. We'll walk there together as a group and spend about an hour touring the cemetery at a leisurely pace while being educated by our guides about Walnut Hills Cemetery's land, history, and significance. Afterwards we invite attendees to enjoy light refreshments at Walnut Hills Cemetery in honor of the 150th anniversary.

We'll then walk back to the Putterham Library where attendees can peruse the display case exhibit featuring historic photos and documents from Walnut Hills Cemetery over its past 150 years.

This program is open to adults of all ages and children 10 and up -- no registration required! Capacity is limited to 40 attendees on a first come, first served basis.

In the event of bad weather, this event will take place at the same time on Saturday, May 17. We will make an announcement and update the calendar as soon as possible if this is the case.

Generously sponsored by the Town of Brookline's Department of Public Works, Parks and Open Space Division.
