Traditional Chinese Musical Instruments In-Person
Welcoming Spring with Traditional Chinese Musical Instruments
Come and enjoy performances of Hulusi, Suona, and Erhu; these traditional instruments
have often depicted the start of spring, such as the sounds of birds chirping, rivers
flowing, and the joy of children at play. Two virtuosos of traditional Chinese instruments,
Yazhi Guo and Tao He, will be introducing the background and structure of these
instruments and will be performing folk music favorites in solo and duet. Both have
performed in orchestras for over thirty years and currently teach in the Boston area.
