Chinese Tea Workshop In-Person
The Putterham Library is delighted to welcome Xi Ouyang, founder of Kong Mountain Tea, for a calming and immersive tea workshop. Xi brings a deep appreciation for tea as a practice of presence, healing, and aesthetic beauty. In this workshop, participants will be introduced to the foundations of Chinese tea culture and guided through the art of brewing tea in the traditional gongfu style. Xi will demonstrate how elements such as water, teaware, temperature, and technique come together to reveal a tea’s true character. Attendees will taste three distinct loose leaf teas while learning about their origins, processing, and unique qualities. With its emphasis on mindfulness, intention, and sensory experience, this program offers a peaceful moment of reflection and connection.
This program is limited to 12 participants and will operate on a first-come, first-served basis. Please arrive early to obtain a free ticket at the service desk before the event.
We look forward to sharing this meaningful experience with our community.
This program is generously sponsored by the Brookline Library Foundation.
