Join us at Putterham for a special event with Sophie Sarkar, artist and author of Mixed Rice! Sophie will read from her book, and lead an origami lesson as a way of exploring mindfulness and creativity.
Mixed Rice delves into the dynamics of a multiethnic Asian family and their daily debate over which type of rice to cook for dinner. The story captures the complexity and richness of multicultural family life, and offers practical insights into mindful communication and conflict resolution, inspired by the teachings of Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh.
This program is best-suited for children ages 5 and up, and their families.
